homeless youth in Anoka County
 
  • Chain of Lakes manages Lions Pride, the food shelf at Anoka Regional High School
  • Chain of Lakes manages Tiger Take Out, the food shelf at Blaine High School 
  • Fundraising efforts coordinated by Chain of Lakes have raised over $23,000 to support HOPE 4 Youth and the sponsorship of HOME Street,  the household supply room at HOPE Place.

December 9, 2019, Donated 45 filled toiletry totes to Anoka Regional High School.
 
December 1, 2018, Bagged groceries at Cub Foods in Blaine.  Raised over  $1900 to sponsor the household supply room at HOPE Place for 2019.
 
Distributed empty bags with food list at Trunk or Treat for food donations for Anoka Regional High School.
 
October 25, 2018, Chain of Lakes partnered with Blaine High School for the 5th annual Box City!
 
September 16, 2018, Collected donations for Anoka Regional High School at Fall Fun Fair
 
February 2018, Chain of Lakes donated $900 of new household goods to HOME Street, the HOPE Place household supply room, for youth moving to their own apartments so that they do not leave HOPE Place empty handed! 
 
December 30, 2017, Chain of Lakes bagged groceries at Cub Foods, Blaine and raised $1350 for HOME Street, the household supply room at HOPE Place.  Items purchased and needed on an ongoing basis are listed above.
 
December 21, 2017, Chain of Lakes prepared and served the Holiday Meal at HOPE Place in Coon Rapids.
 
December 20, 2017, Chain of Lakes prepared a meal and served Stepping Stone in Anoka County.
 
Bowling Small Group, donated $283 to HOPE Place for vacuum cleaners and pots and pans for HOME Street
 
October 26, 2017, Chain of Lakes partnered with Blaine High School for the 4th annual Box City!
 
May 4, 2017, Chain of Lakes was given the Hope 4 Youth 2017 Inspiring Hope Faith Partner Award at the annual Inspiring Hope Luncheon for Hope 4 Youth
 
2016 and 2017,  Silents Auctions have raised over $7,000 for HOPE 4 Youth.  Silent Auction events took place at Espresso Yourself, the music and arts venue of Chain of Lakes
 
Be an Extraordinary Blessing! December 2016, the Extraordinary Blessing campaign raised $6,500 for HOPE 4 Youth.
 
October 27, 2016, Chain of Lakes Church partnered with Blaine High School to sponsor the 3rd annual Box City.  Students, staff and volunteers from Chain of Lakes slept outside in boxes to bring awareness of teen homelessness to the community. Over one hundred students from Blaine High School registered for Box City this year!  The evening began at 6:30 pm with a program highlighting youth homelessness with guest speaker, Lisa Jacobson, Executive Director at HOPE 4 Youth, sharing news about HOPE 4 Youth and the events happening in Anoka County. Pastor Paul Moore from Chain of Lakes Church shared the work that Chain of Lakes does every day to help to bring an end to youth homelessness by 2020.
 
February of 2016, Chain of Lakes collected bags of food for homeless teens at Blaine High School so that those in need would have food over spring break. On March 8, 2016, the Spring Break food bags were put into backpacks and for 26 homeless students.
 
October 22, 2015, Chain of Lakes staff and volunteers helped organize and support Blaine High School’s 2nd annual Box City.  Students, faculty and individuals from Chain of Lakes slept out of doors, in the cold, in a box to raise awareness and donations for homeless teens in the community.
 
September of 2015 Chain of Lakes Church hosted a carnival to benefit HOPE 4 Youth. 
 
June and July of 2015, the Outreach Team collected supplies and necessities for Survival Bags for homeless teens. 14 Survival Bags were donated to HOPE 4 Youth.  Survival bags will be used by youth who are homeless who sleep in their cars, in parks or under bridges.  Survival Bags consist of a rolling duffle bag, sleeping bag, pillow, towel, wash cloths, socks, gloves, stocking hat, toiletries, notebook, pen and food.  Total donation $2,100.
 
Spring of  2014, Chain of Lakes offered to organize and support a Box City at Blaine High School. With speakers arranged to begin the evening talking about teen homelessness, a truckload of boxes to be delivered, a minimal box dinner to be served, Chain of Lakes and Blaine High School hosted a Box City on October 9, 2014 to raise awareness for homeless teens in Anoka County.
 
Spring of 2014 Chain of Lakes raised over $1000 to help homeless teen programs by hosting a Pancake Breakfast.
