Job Title: Director of Youth and Family Ministry

Reports to: Pastor of Chain of Lakes Church

Supervises: Childcare Coordinator

Coordinates with: Youth and Family Ministry Team, Church leadership volunteers, and youth and family volunteers

Location of Work: Blaine, MN

Work Hours: Average of 15 hours a week

Work Schedule: Sunday 10am – noon, flexible schedule is possible for other requirements

Performance reviews: Periodic reviews in first year, annually thereafter

Job Summary: To develop and grow the Children’s Ministry (Primary) and Youth & Young Adult (Secondary) ministry at Chain of Lakes Church, a PC(USA) congregation

Salary: Negotiable

Objective:

To help Chain of Lakes live out the Core Value of Investing in Future Generations by leading the development and delivery of children’s, youth, and young adult ministry at Chain of Lakes within the guidelines of the Chain of Lakes Church Purpose Statement

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Build and nurture relationships with families and children in congregation and community by planning and implementing ministries and events
  2. With the Youth and Family Ministry Team develop, promote and implement Sunday Circles, Vacation Church Camp, Bible Study, and events/other ministries in a way that draws in new families and retains existing families
  3. Provide support for Children Ministry (primary) and Youth Ministry (secondary) by coordinating and providing direction to volunteers who teach and assist, coordinating supplies, creating and maintaining a schedule, and tracking attendance
  4. Attend and participate in Staff meetings
  5. Supervise Childcare Coordinator by providing work direction
  6. Actively participate with Youth and Family Ministry Team and assist with developing and adhering to annual budget
  7. Recruit and train volunteers to carry out children’s, youth, and young adult ministry
  8. Motivate and lead congregation in living out the Chain of Lakes Core Value of Investing in Future Generations

Job Requirements:

  • Preferred: 3 years’ experience in children’s or youth ministry
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in a Reformed, Presbyterian background
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of common Social Media platforms
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Approved background check
